Thanks, Charles. I took your comment as a personal preference which, by the way, is shared by a lot of readers! I'm just happy you're going to be reading the book! Best, Ric
Thank you so much, Julia! If you happen to think of it, I would love to hear what you think once you're finished the book. In the meanwhile, have a great weekend! Ric
Thanks so much for your support, Laurie. I deeply appreciate it. As you can imagine, this has been quite an experience. But better it happened to me than to a young or emerging writer whose career could be crushed by this kind of preemptive censorship -at least I have the professional platform to speak out. So I am all the more grateful to have the company of people like you. All good wishes, Ric
I agree with you, Richard. I’m finding myself so involved in Malcolm’s story, and able to see the world through his young eyes. I’m terrified for him. This book is a gift of deeper understanding for me. Thank you for writing it.
Thank you for this, Saiiy. A unique value of fiction is that, through the combined imagination of writer and reader, readers can enter the worlds of people very different than are they. Nowhere is this more important than in our polarized society. Thank you for sharing this experience with me. All good wishes, Richard.
Thank you so much, Tom, for your support throughout. I came to count on hearing from you. Time permitting, please let me know what you think of the entire book . With deep appreciation, Ric
I haven't been following the serial but as I've commented before, your original clash with publishers caught my attention, and I've read other books of yours. I will be grabbing the full copy on the 13th (I'm not a serial guy). I hope the book is tremendously successful. Its success will benefit all writers and all readers equally.
Thank you so much, Charles. As I've argued in two different essays, the issue of preemptive censorship on the basis of authorial identity is much bigger than me or my book. At least I have the platform to make the case.
In contrast, the purpose of serialization was to enable the novel to speak for itself. I am very grateful that you will be reading it soon.
Thanks. I hope I didn't imply that the serialization was a bad idea. It was great! It's just not my preferred reading venue. Based on the comments, it sounds like it is already a big hit!
I very much appreciate being able to read this book a bit at a time though I stopped reading last week because I really want to savor the whole book when it drops into my Kindle app on Tuesday. Thank you!
I thought that I had already thanked you, Julia, but don't see that in the thread. I certainly look forward to hearing how you like the book once you're finished. Appreciatively, Ric
Thank you so much for sharing your book and your journey. The book is a page turner and so well written. The resistance from the publishers is mind-boggling and eye-opening to me. Definitely will be buying your book and sharing it as gifts as well 💗
I know I thanked you before, Laurie, but don't see that in the thread. So just in case I'm losing my mind –always a possibility –I wanted to thank you again for your support of the idea that empathy and imagination can and should cross the lines of personal identity. We need that spirit in our literature and, even more, in our society –especially during these contentious times. Best, Ric
Thanks so much, Charles!
I'm so delighted that you enjoyed it ,Michael! Appreciatively, Ric

I have loved the book. I also had forgotten the delight of serialization. You've got me hooked. Can't wait to see it in my Amazon account.
