Thanks, Barbara .I read her regularly, and am filled with admiration.

I am posting my outline tomorrow. That should give you a sense of what it is I'm bringing to the subject – A pretty comprehensive effort.

Best,

Ric

Thank you so much, Anne. The only way I could address what was happening was in a long essay. I hope by dividing the narrative up it will be accessible and reader friendly. I really appreciate your encouragement! Ric

Thank you, Paul. I think we made great progress, as you affirm. So grateful to hear from you.

I agree with you about when the money goes bad . For sure, economic prosperity is so important to whether we move forward as a democracy. Best, Ric

Another voice is always welcome, but it should be recognized that Heather Cox Richardson and others have also addressed this important topic. I look forward to reading your thoughts!

Welcome back! you are the reason I discovered The Bulwark back in - I guess 2020? (at least that was my first payment to them.) Found one of your essays on their site. I have missed your writing; looking forward to the new stuff.

This is something important, Mr. Patterson and your perspective will be illuminating. I firmly believe there are many more of us in this country not just invested in our founders’ grand aspirational vision, but have done the inner work, the psychological work, needed to live in a multicultural, multiracial, pluralistic, non-gendered democracy. We humans are in the adolescent stage of development and yet we have many evolved teachers throughout history who have guided us and shown a Vision, beginning with our indigenous populations and our prophets such as Martin Luther king, Gandhi, Frances Perkins, Henry Thoreau, Walt Whitman. So looking forward to your essays.

Richard you popped up for me. I'm interested in your coming America in crisis...I am not familiar with you but glad back well enough to get back to writing....I heard you say something along the lines of a crisis in racism....I'm a 50 yo plus male in mountains of Pa. I was integrated all throughout k to 12 in Queens NY...45 mins each way on bus the whole time. This all while living in the projects of Rockaway Beach....

I'm always sad when no one gives any credit during my lifetime for the gains we have made and almost no credit ever...I go to all major sports and nope no racism, I'm in 12 step programs no racism, Walmart - nope, on and on....I hate to sound negative before knowing you but....I ll read for your efforts and hopefully learn something new...

I'm a registered independent and when the money goes bad so does the country from Rome to Germany to Britain and we are next
